Chaos FAQs
What is Chaos?
Chaos is the Riv ministry for seventh and eighth grade students. Chaos is a place where students can come and learn about being a Christ-follower in an inviting and relaxing atmosphere. At Chaos, students will have fun playing crazy games, be challenged with an engaging teaching, and will be encouraged to be share their lives with their peers and their leaders in Life Groups.
When does Chaos meet?
Chaos meetings take place on Sundays from 11:30ish am - 1:00ish pm in the MOD at Riv's Holt Venue, and Wednesday nights from 6:30 - 8:30 pm in the Chapel at Riv's Holt Venue. Chaos also has Chaos Mix events, which take place on the first Wednesday of every month.
What happens at a weekly Chaos meeting?
The two Chaos meetings promote community and fellowship, but do so in different ways. A Sunday Chaos meeting consists of socializing, an activity, and an interactive time of Bible study and teaching related to the weekend service. This meeting is meant to encourage students to go deeper with their faith, while keeping them connected to what is going on at the Riv weekend services.
Wednesday Chaos meetings provide a higher energy environment in which students can have fun, while being engaged with a teaching and Life Group interaction. During Life Groups times, students can be honest and real, and not have to worry about being judged. This meeting provides students with a time of fun, laughter, authentic relationships, challenging teaching, and encouraging Life Groups.
What is a Chaos Mix?
A Chaos Mix is an event that happens on the first Wednesday of every month. These events take the place of the Wednesday Chaos meeting that would normally happen that night. Chaos Mix events are fun, high energy times when students can let loose and have a great time with their friends and leaders! Examples of Chaos Mix events would be pool parties, scavenger hunts, movie nights, kickball games, etc. These events are meant to be fun and crazy times when students can bring their friends and build relationships with their leaders.
How do I get involved?
Seventh and eighth grade students are able to attend a Chaos meeting or Chaos Mix whenever they would like. Wednesday Chaos is great for a student who wants to meet other students and leaders and just wants to check things out. Sunday Chaos meetings are great for students who want to go deeper with their faith, study the Bible, and be connected with the weekend services at Riv.
